He was news anchor and presenter with O.G.T.V Abeokuta in 1989.
Between 1990 and 1994, Sola was an anchor person with N.T.A 2 channel 5
where he co-hosted the popular talk variety show, “Morning Ride”. Sola Adewunmi’s exciting career extended into the world of advertising
when he joined S.O.&U Saatchi in 1994 as pioneer Senior PR Executive for
its newly established PR and Events Management department. He left S.O.&U Saatchi 16 months later to co- found The House of Excelsis, an
Events Management outfit in the Lagos suburb of Ilupeju.
It was while managing The
House of Excelsis that history beckoned on him in 1996 to join in the
establishment of Nigeria’s first private television network, Africa
Independent Television owned by Chief Raymond Dokpesi. Sola relocated to
the United States in 1999. He has since obtained a Diploma in Radio and
Television Production from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, Davie,
Florida. He worked with WMXJ MAJIC 102.7F and WLYF LITE 101.5FM both in
Miami as promotions person between 2000 and 2001. He also served as
marketing consultant for Vibez Cultural Outreach Inc. a Miami based
Caribbean non-profit organization.
Sola Adewunmi does not just
talk black empowerment - he lives it. He taught “Life Skills” and
counseled on substance abuse at the South Bay Correctional Facility, Palm
Beach County, Florida for over a year. Sola also volunteered
at the Delray TEEN Society program of the Planned Parenthood of South Palm
Beach & Broward Counties where he mentored Delray Beach
teenagers. Sola
Adewunmi served on the Board of the Planned Parenthood of South
Palm Beach & Broward Counties between 2005 and 2006. |
